On a cliff between Manuel Antonio National Park and incredible views of the Pacific Ocean that will blow your mind, Hotel Costa Verde is an exciting vacation getaway, a wedding in a tropical setting, or a unique honeymoon experience in a hotel completely different from anything you've imagined before.
Just 4.8 kilometers from the town of Quepos and only a 2 hour drive from the San Jose airport, the ideal hotel for short getaways or as a convenient starting point for outdoor adventures, eco-tourism, sport fishing, surfing, or just enjoying the serenity of the famous white sand beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park.

Costa Verde is 300 meters from the beach and overlooks the famous Manuel Antonio National Park. It has 3 swimming pools with terraces and large rooms, studios, and bungalows, although the most claimed is the Boeing 727 suite.
The Boeing 727, which was manufactured in 1965 and used by South Africa Air and Avianca, was purchased in 2006 by Allan Templeton, owner of the Costa Verde Hotel. Templeton invested $500,000 to convert it into a two-bedroom luxury suite, which he christened "Phoenix", probably because of the archetype that represents this bird related to transformation that rises from the ashes.
The fuselage of the plane was transported in five trucks to the jungles of Manuel Antonio, where it was resurrected as a high-altitude luxury suite, perched on a pedestal 15 meters high. The panoramic views of the ocean and jungle are unique from the wooden deck built on the former right wing of the plane.

The Phoenix Suite represents the ultimate luxury hotel in Costa Rica. They have transformed the fuselage of a 1965 Boeing 727, which in the past carried travelers on South Africa Air and Avianca Airlines (Colombia). This exclusive, fully equipped, and carefully designed two-bedroom lodge rises above the lush jungle, offering views that will literally transport you to the heights.
Situated on the edge of the National Park, in the Costa Verde II zone, the iconic aircraft stands on a 50-foot pedestal. From this elevation, you can revel in panoramic ocean and jungle views from the hardwood deck built over the plane's right wing.
The Fenix Suite is not the only such home in the world. They were inspired by Forbes magazine, in an article about a company that sells hurricane-proof housing using Boeing 727 airplane fuselages.
This caught their attention, and they looked for new ways to introduce comfort and luxury to this aircraft. The furniture is hand-carved teak wood from Java, Indonesia. The suite features two air-conditioned bedrooms, one with two queen-size beds and the other with one queen-size bed, each with its own private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, a kitchenette with microwave, dining area, foyer, ocean view terrace, private entrance by a spiral staircase of river rock, and 360 degrees of surrounding gardens. Relax on the terrace while sipping a glass of wine and watching your neighbors in the treetops: sloths, toucans, monkeys, and other wildlife.
